Mobile trader and thinkorswim mobile are the same. If you use tos than you would use one of those. TD Ameritrade mobile is the mobile version of the website. If you are trading options, you can't go wrong with TOS. It was made to trade options. ThinkorSwim is a trading platform owned by TD Ameritrade and offered for free to all of this broker’s account holders. The platform goes beyond stock trading to offer charting, alerts, and real-time trading for options, forex, and futures. TD Ameritrade has come up with an ingenious idea: offer thinkorswim in mobile version. Like its desktop counterpart, the thinkorswim mobile app comes with no account minimums. It has all the drawing tools and technical indicators that the desktop platform offers, although some areas have more limited capabilities. The mobile app is really similar to the standard web interface. Think or Swim is overkill to me, but I don't trade 16-leg "platinum falcon" options, so maybe it's just me. I think Trade Architect is a nice middle ground. Never used the Trader App, but now I think I might give it a go based on the other comments in this thread. I have worked at TD Ameritrade (TDA) for nearly 4 years now just so you know my answer should help ;) ThinkorSwim (ToS) is our trading platform we purchased many years ago and we have continued to improve on it; you are using paper money which is TD Ameritrade Mobile mimics much of the desktop platform, offering practical functionality in an easy-to-use package. The thinkorswim mobile app is comparable to the thinkorswim desktop platform. The TD Ameritrade mobile app is more comparable to the website experience. Can you place conditional orders on the thinkorswim Mobile app? You are certainly able to place conditional orders on the thinkorswim Mobile app.
